This is a really awesome plant that was in our garden when we moved here 29 years ago. It is a faithful bloomer and easily divided.
Bergenia crassifolia is listed as a winter or early spring bloomer, and mine always blooms early spring.
Bergenia (pron.: /bərˈɡɛniə/)[1] (elephant-eared saxifrage, elephant's ears) is a genus of ten species of flowering plants in the family Saxifragaceae, native to central Asia, from Afghanistan to China and the Himalayan region.
Zones A-1-A-3; 1-9, 12-24
Partial or Full shade, mine is in full sun until around 4pm and does fine.
Regular watering
Divide early spring
