The Norblad Hotel in Astoria Oregon

We went to Astoria this week to clean the family graves and put new flowers out. So I decided we needed to stay in one of the historical hotels, the Norblad Hotel. It is downtown, so easy to walk to eaterys and see what the downtown offers. It was very cool.

Some of their rooms share the communal bathrooms/showers and some have private. We got a room with a private bath.

We could see the top of the Astoria Column from our room!!! Very cool!!!

We took a walk after dinner into downtown just to look in the windows and give me time to remember the good old days when I was much younger.

This is the Liberty Theatre. I have many fond memories of many movies there as a young child all the way through high school!!!

Below are views from our room!!!

Notice the barrels in the windows above??????? Fort George Brewery is across the street. They have beer and food, the perfect combination for a lovely visit to Astoria.

This is our room below, great views and a hanging chair!!! So fun!!! And one more thing they had was record players to borrow and lots of albums to choose from!!! That was fun too. We listened to music in the evening while just lounging, so needed!!!

Below is our work at the cemetery!!

It was a good quick trip to home and I really look forward to the next time we go. If you have a chance to check out the Norblad, do so, they are very kind  and courteous there!!!

Till we meet again, martha
